jQuery Flyout Carousel

Everyone is familiar with the rotating featured posts that have become so popular recently. About 6 months ago I was working on a project that needed one that would just show categories and artwork, but would expand to show the teaser when clicked. We ended up going an entirely different direction but I figured I might as well post the script and maybe someone will get some use out of it.

Keep in mind that this is a really rough version that was only intended for demonstration. Really it’s barely more than proof of concept, but I don’t think it would take much to clean up. I haven’t done any testing and I can’t offer any support, just take it and have fun. I would like to give a lot of the credit to Remy Sharp and his jQuery Infinite Carousel script which this is based on. 90% of the credit for this goes to him.

I have fallen behind already

but only because my computer got a virus and I had to reformat and reinstall Windows. I came very close to installing linux again but since Ubuntu still doesn’t really support dual monitors and for about 500 other little reasons I didn’t.

Everything is up and running properly now so I will be catching up this weekend. My plan is to give the videos a quick watch during work today and then do the exercises when I get home. Got to the love the new format.

The Challenge Day One: What is a Niche

Well day one is in the books and overall not much new. This is actually a good thing because with the new format Ed can go slower and bring the complete newbies up to speed.

Our task was to practice defining 3 markets -> niches -> micro niches. Complete time spent counting watching the movie was less than 15 minutes. Gonna go and do some more work on my blog and get ready for day 2.
